Waxing: Get Your Smooth Moves On

As a Beauty Salon owner, I understand that waxing can be a daunting experience for many people. However, with the proper preparation and guidance, it can be a smooth and stress-free process.

Firstly, choosing a reputable salon with experienced and qualified therapists who use high-quality waxing products is essential. Our salon prioritises hygiene and safety and ensures that our clients feel comfortable and at ease throughout the treatment.

Waxing

Waxing Services For Women

Before the appointment, avoiding shaving or using hair removal creams for at least four weeks before the waxing session is essential. This allows the hair to grow to the optimum length for effective waxing. We recommend exfoliating the area a day or two before the appointment to remove dead skin cells and avoid ingrown hairs.

On the appointment day, wearing loose-fitting clothing is essential to avoid irritation and allow the skin to breathe.

During the treatment, our therapists apply warm wax to the area using a spatula and then use strips of cloth to remove the hair in the direction of hair growth. We ensure the wax is not too hot to avoid burns or discomfort and apply pressure to the area after waxing to soothe any irritation.

While waxing may be uncomfortable for some, it's important to remember the benefits. Waxing removes hair from the root, resulting in smoother and longer-lasting results than shaving. It also exfoliates the skin and promotes healthy hair growth.

At Charishma Beauty,  we understand that everyone's pain tolerance is different, and we prioritise the comfort and well-being of our clients.

FAQ

In addition to providing a smooth and comfortable waxing experience, we also prioritise education and guidance for our clients.
We offer aftercare advice and recommend products to prevent ingrown hairs and maintain smooth skin between waxing sessions.nce.

  • Will my hair grow back thinner?

The hair follicle is damaged each time the hair is pulled out, which weakens the hair. Over time the hair can become thinner and patchy. This varies from person to person.

  • Does waxing hurt as much as people say?

We are pulling the hair out by the root, so it does hurt. Some areas are more sensitive to others. The benefits outweigh a little discomfort. Ie no shaving cuts, no stubble, reduced strength of the hair, meaning the discomfort eases over time for most people.

  • What’s the best way to get rid of post-waxing red skin?

We apply after waxing lotion to soothe the area. You could apply cold compresses at home.

  • How does the hair grow back?

If you become a regular waxer, you’ll notice that your hair will become sparser, making it easier to wax…and less painful!

  • Can I shave between treatments?

Shaving will make the hairs blunt and cause uneven hair growth. It is best to stick to waxing only.

  • What should I avoid after waxing?

Avoid gym workouts, sauna, spa and public swimming pools. Avoid touching your skin, bacteria from the fingers can be transferred easily. Treat your skin gently, no self tan, exfoliating or strong perfumed body lotion for at least 48 hours. And sunbaking is a definite no no for 48 hours leading up to and after your wax.
